Making of an analog and digital regional atlas: atlas of Saskatchewan

The Centennial Edition, or the First Edition of the Atlas of Saskatchewan was published in November 1969. The original concept of producing the Atlas to portray the geographical landscape of the province of Saskatchewan originated with Professor J.H. Richards, former head of the Department of Geography at the University of Saskatchewan, in the mid 1960s. Since its appearance, it has continued to be very well-received by academics, scientists, researchers, the teaching profession, administrators, professional planners and the general public. As an attempt to keep pace with the changes, planning for a second edition was initiated in the early 1980s. Unfortunately, the project never materialized, mainly due to difficulties in securing funding.
