摘要

A significant and growing percentage of pharmaceuticals under development are recombinant antibodies. Identification and isolation of antibodies with specific binding properties has been greatly facilitated by using surface display techniques whereby antibody binding domain libraries are generated in vitro and displayed on the surface of bacteriophage [1] or yeast [2]. Single chain antibody variable domain fragments (scFvs) are displayed on the surface of bacteriophage, so particular binding properties can be easily screened using an affinity selection (or bio-panning) process.
