Miniaturisation of analytical process is one of the most important researchtopics in analytical chemistry. This is because the down-sizing of the analytical system could be a promising solution to the recent requirements such as high performance, high throughput, easier automation, and cost-effective and environmentally friendly features. Introducing fibrous materials as the medium for sample preparation and chromatographic separation, miniaturised analytical approaches have been developed.
