Comparatively smaller M701F5 combined cycle is rated at 525MW and 61% efficiency versus 680MW and 61.7% efficiency for the more advanced M701J configuration. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has two relatively recent new designs in its product line of large 50Hz gas turbines capable of operating at over 60% combined cycle efficiency. These are the advanced high temperature M701J and upgraded M701F5 series. While both designs are intended primarily for combined cycle projects, the F5 unit is also being marketed for simple cycle and cogeneration applications: 1. New 701J series. In 1×1 combined cycle configuration, the M701J plant is rated at 680MW net output and 61.7% efficiency. 2. Simple cycle F5. M701F5 plant is ISO rated at 359MW and 8530 Btu/kWh heat rate (40% efficiency) on natural gas fuel. 3. Combined cycle. In 1×1 combined cycle configuration, the M701F5 plant is rated at 525MW net output and 61% efficiency.
