Kalaeloa Cogeneration Plant 200-MW combined cycle facility in Kapolei, Hawaii generates about 20 percent the electric power requirements of residential, commercial and industrial operations on the island of Oahu. The cogen plant, developed as a partnership between ABB Energy Ventures and Kalaeloa Investment Partners, has been in service since 1990. It supplies steam to Tesoro Hawaii Corporation (one of two oil refineries in Hawaii) and 180 MW of firm capacity power to Hawaiian Electric Company.
