Texas Railroad Commission Passes New Pipeline Regulations

The Texas Railroad Commission instituted new regulations, effective March 2, which will place natural gas production and flow lines in urban areas under its jurisdiction. The commission is now in charge of the construction, operating pressure, emergency responses and designs of these pipelines. Previously these lines had no safety requirements and were not regulated by federal law.
