Conditions of Formation of Gold-Bearing Quartz Veins in the Upper Reaches of the Kozhin'yu River, Northern Urals

The Kozhim"yu area is located in the interfluve and slopes between the E—W trending segments of the valleys of the Kozhim"yu River and the Verkhnii Kozhim-vozh Brook. In terms of tectonic structure, it is confined to the western part of the Man'khambo anticlinorium of the Central Ural uplift. The geologic structure of the area includes Late Riphean—Early Vendian stratified volcanic and volcanosedimentary complexes of the lower and upper subformations of the Sablegorsk Formation and the Vendian—Cambrian Ar'yanshor sequence, which were eroded and overlain by the terrigenous rocks of the Tel'pos Formation. Intrusive rocks are represented by metadolerites of the Sablegorsk sub-volcanic bodies and their young analogues assigned to the Late Devonian Ilych complex. Metagabbros and metadiorites of the Parnuk complex were mapped in the eastern part of the area, and granitoids of the Sal'ner— Man'khambo complex (Il'yaiz and Man'khambo massifs) crop out in the north and southeast.
