Gas Production Recovery Resumes--Slightly

Some of the Higher Hanging Fruit is Picked—11.3% More Since Last Monday. GPR was somewhat premature, it turns out, in announcing that the Gulf of Mexico production recovery had stalled out in GPR’s Katrina Special Report that came out last Wednesday, Sept. 14, with the above chart ending with Monday, Sept. 12. As you can see from the continuation of Bentek Energy’s bar graph in the days past Sept. 12, production was again on the increase. This graph does not include last Friday, Sept. 16. If it did, the final bar would be just a bit higher, at 6.77 Bcf/day instead of the 6.51 Bcf/day shown here for Thursday, Sept 15. That marks a 690 Bcf/day uptick for the whole workweek, which began at 6.08 Bcf/day on Monday. That’s a significant 11.3% increase.
