Buyers of feed gas for export from the US as LNG will soon descend upon the American gas market, including firms who have rarely, if ever, operated in this kind of procurement environment. In the first part of this series we presented eight rules for buying, contracting, and arranging feed gas purchases in the US. In the second part Gas Strategies shone a spotlight on what’s involved in delivering feed gas to LNG export plants, with seven rules for diving into the world of steel – covering pipelines, capacity contracting, rates, locational basis, and the opportunities, risks and requirements that go along with managing all these.
