EnCana, Shell Scale Back Size of Haynesville Sale

EnCana and Shell have pulled back their proposed sale of up to a 50% interest in 134,000 acres the companies jointly own in the Haynesville shale after drilling results were better than anticipated. EnCana officials now believe that these results show the core of the Haynesville being at or near its holdings in Red River and DeSoto parishes, Louisiana rather than in Texas. This has caused the proposed sale to be reduced to 30,000 acres.
