Mont Belvieu Ethane Close to 2008 Margin

As natural gas prices continued to plunge this week - Conway feedstock prices were down 23% and Mont Belvieu feedstock prices fell 21% - frac spread margins persisted in their gains. Overall, the theoretical barrel margins improved 16% at both hubs. Ethane had the biggest improvements at both hubs, as the Conway margin was up 52% and the Mont Belvieu margin rose 22%. This was followed by butane margins, which were up 18% at Kansas and up 17% at Texas.
