Southern Union Plans Midstream MLP

Southern Union is planning to file an S-1 in early 2008 for an MLP for a portion of its midstream assets, which earned 20 million in Q3 2007. Eric Herschmann, the company’s SVP, stated, “While we considered numerous attractive offers to partner with an existing MLP, we feel that creating and controlling our own MLP will create greater value for Southern Union’s shareholders over the long term.”
