Shell, BP CEOs Encourage Continued Spending on Projects

In an effort to combat the poor economy, many companies, not just those involved in oil and gas, are cutting, scaling back or delaying construction projects. Shell's head, Jeroen van der Veer, believes this is the wrong reaction for oil and gas companies. "Hamlet said 'to be or not to be'… the second Hamlet question is to invest or not to invest. At Shell, we are convinced that you keep on investing," he said last week in Houston.
