BP Statistical Review of World Energy hails LNG as driver of global gas trade

BP today published its Statistical Review of World Energy, with the company’s chief economist, Christof Rühl, highlighting the key role of LNG as the main reason behind a 10.1% increase in traded gas volumes in 2010. “Massive changes in LNG markets and the shale gas revolution in the US are reshaping the world of natural gas. Over the last five years, global LNG supply grew by a cumulative 58% – three times faster than total gas production,” he said.
