EUROPE - UPSTREAM Gazprom, Total and Statoil to set up Shtokman phase one company

Gazprom is expected to announce tomorrow that it has set up an operating company with its partners StatoilHydro and Total, to deal with the first phase of development of the offshore Shtokman gas field. Alexei Miller, CEO of the Russian company, is scheduled to meet his Total and Statoil counterparts, Christophe de Margerie and Helge Lund. As announced last October, Gazprom is expected to hold a 50-plus-one-share stake in the special projects vehicle (SPV), with Total and StatoilHydro holding 25% and 24% respectively.
