EUROPE - UPSTREAM Eni bids for Russian gas field and extends Norwegian reserve estimate

Russian newspaper Kommersant reported today that Eni was “ready to participate in its first auction for a license in Russia”. It is apparently interested in the Olenchiminskoe field in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, which will be auctioned in February. The field has reserves of 43 million tons of oil and 121 Bcm of natural gas. Eni had also applied for the auction for the Tanachinskoe and Moktakonskoe deposits. That auction will not now go ahead, because Eni was the only bidder.
