Energy Trading Legislation Introduced in U.S. Senate

Two bills related to increased regulation of energy commodities trading were introduced into the U.S. Senate last week. One, S. 3129, aims “to amend the Commodity Exchange Act to prevent price manipulation and excessive speculation and to increase transparency with respect to energy trading on foreign exchanges conducted within the United States.”
