摘要

Malcolm Webb, chief executive of Oil & Gas UK, on Monday called for an emergency meeting of PILOT, a joint UK government/industry forum established to help maximise recovery from the UK continental shelf, to discuss the implications of the upstream tax increases announced in last week’s Budget. PILOT is a joint programme involving the government and the UK oil & gas industry - operators, contractors, suppliers, trade unions and SMEs (small and medium entreprises) – set up in 2000 with the aim of “securing the long-term future of the Industry in the UK”. It meets twice a year, and is chaired by the secretary of state for energy.
