Gazprom urges Bulgaria to speed up work on South Stream

Gazprom has urged Bulgaria to push forward on the development of the South Stream gas pipeline project.Gazprom chief executive Alexey Miller met with the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and the Bulgarian President Georgy Parvanov in Sofia on Tuesday to encourage Bulgaria to increase the pace in support of South Stream to diversify gas transit routes. The 63 Bcm/year South Stream gas pipeline will pass under the Black Sea from Russia to Bulgaria, bypassing Ukraine, and continues through Italy and Austria.
