Australia's Icon Energy inks LNG supply deal with SinoGas

Queensland-based coal bed methane explorer, Icon Energy on Thursday announced it has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shenzhen Sino Industrial Development Co, a subsidiary of Chinese company SinoGas Group, to supply 40 million tonnes of LNG over a 20-year period. Icon Energy said the deal, worth between $A23 billion (US$21.2 billion) and $A32 billion, is scheduled for final negotiation and execution by August 31 this year, with deliveries to start in 2014.
