Eni to divest shares in TAG, TENP and Transitgas import pipelines

Eni has offered to divest around 1.5billion ($2billion) of pipeline assets, including all of its shares in the gas import pipelines TAG, TENP and Transitgas in a move designed to appease European antitrust regulators.The EU antitrust watchdog had voiced concerns that Eni is restricting rivals’ access to these pipelines by abusing its dominant market position. Following a probe in 2007, the EU threatened to impose fines of up to 10% of Eni’s annual revenue if it failed to comply with regulatory demands on third party access.
