Crystal Structure and Liquid Crystalline State of Cholesteryl Butylcarbonate

摘要

The crystal crystal structures of a series of esters and carbonates of cholesterol was examined,in order to obtain structural information relevant to their liquid crystalline phases and the possible modes of association of the cholesterol derivatives,as well as of other substances in biological systems.An examination of the unit-cell parameters of the cholesterol derivatives suggests that the majority of them might have one of the four common crystal packing arrangements.
