The Liberal Party of Canada won a decisive majority in the Canadian general election on Monday on a climate change platform, as leader Justin Trudeau vowed to tackle upstream carbon emissions and strengthen the country’s environmental regulations. The Liberals won 184 of the 388 federal Parliamentary seats, securing a 54% majority and moving the party from its position as the third largest party in Parliament to the first.
