China may face potential winter gas shortage

Following China's acute gas shortage last winter, an official from the Chinese National Energy Administration (NEA) was optimistic about meeting domestic demand for the 2010-2011 winter season. A NEA official told the China Energy News newspaper that the government had asked gas producers to import enough gas to meet China's winter demand and added although supplies may be limited, winter demand could be met.
