Gazprom insists take-or-pay agreements “should be fulfilled”

Ilya Kochevrin, executive director of Gazprom's export unit Gazexport has said gas take-or-pay contracts “should be fulfilled”, suggesting Gazprom is unlikely to review long-term gas delivery contracts with European companies. The Russian business daily Kommersant reported that customers in Germany, Italy and Turkey are hoping to take up to $2.8 billion less gas than contractually committed.
