Global LNG sales growth down on project delays, decline in demand

The pace of growth in global LNG sales slowed considerably on the back of declining demand and supply disruption due to project delays and higher production costs, the Levallois, an International Group of LNG Importers, said in a report. In 2008, global LNG shipment volumes saw a year-on-year rise of merely 0.8% to 172.1 MMt, mainly resulting from a severe slow down in spot trading activity after a dramatic drop in prices starting from August, the report states.
