India to offer 70 blocks in biggest ever oil and gas round

Buoyed by the success of its Krishna Godavari basin which began gas production last week, India today launched its biggest ever oil and gas licensing round offering 70 blocks for exploration.There are 24 deepwater blocks, 28 shallow water blocks and 18 land blocks up for grabs, as well as 10 coal-bed methane blocks. The auction will close on August 10.
