Kazakh section of China gas pipeline completed

Kazakhstan has finished building its section of a pipeline that will deliver Central Asian gas to China. When the 30 Bcm/y Central Asian Gas Pipeline (CAGP) is complete, scheduled for 2011, it will be China’s first transnational pipeline delivering gas from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan."The first gas will be shipped in late November 2009," said Beimbet Shayakhmetov, the head of Asian Gas Pipeline company, a joint venture set up by China and Kazakhstan to build the link. He added: "In 2010, we will transit about 4.5-5 Bcm of gas from Turkmenistan.”
