BG and CNOOC ink Queensland LNG supply agreement

BG Group has signed an agreement with China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) for the development and purchase of gas from its proposed Curtis LNG project (QCLNG) in Gladstone, Queensland. Under the deal, CNOOC will purchase 3.6mtpa of LNG for 20 years from the start-up date of QCLNG; it will also buy 5% of BG’s interest in certain Surat Basin gas reserves; acquire a 10% interest in one of the two LNG trains that will make up the first phase of the development and the pair also plan to jointly build and own two LNG ships.
