Tanzania has closed its fourth deep offshore licensing round after receiving five bids for five of the eight blocks on offer, state-controlled Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) said this week. Bidders in the fourth deep offshore round included China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), Ras Al Khaimah Gas and Mubadala of the UAE, Gazprom and a joint bid placed by Statoil and ExxonMobil.
