Bulgaria and Gazprom agree to speed up South Stream construction

Bulgaria and Russia have agreed in principle to accelerate the construction of the planned South Stream pipeline in an effort to diversify the route of Russian gas supplies to Europe after January’s stand-off between Moscow and Kiev which led to a two-week disruption of Russian gas deliveries to Europe.
