摘要

LNG imports to South Korea, the world's second-largest LNG buyer after Japan, fell for the sixth consecutive month in June to 1.46 mt, down 1.35% from the 1.48 mt imported one year earlier. However this slight drop – which is far smaller than the decline seen in the first five months of the year – could be viewed as signal that demand is beginning to revive. One independent LNG consultant told Gas Matters Today that imports in the first half of the year are likely to be around 14% lower – or 2.1 mt – than the first six months of 2008.
