China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) unit, CNOOC New Energy Investment, and the Datong Coal Mine Group will invest $4.4 billion in a coal-to-gas (CTG) project in Datong, Shanxi province in central China.The funding will cover the development of a CTG facility with an annual capacity of 4 Bcm of natural gas, and supporting projects including two coal mines, each with an annual output of 10 million tons, relevant coal washing mills and coal gangue-fired power plants.
