Norway commissions subsea CCS study

Norway's energy ministry and state-owned Statoil have agreed to carry out a feasibility study for a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in the North Sea. The NOK 35 million (USD 4 million) study will establish the potential for a CCS project in three hydrocarbon producing areas of the Norwegian Continental Shelf - Utsira, Heimdal and Smeaheia - and is due to be completed by 1 June.
