Petronas signs HoA to buy of 2 mtpa of LNG from Gladstone project

Australian oil and gas company Santos has agreed to sell 2 mtpa LNG from its planned Gladstone project to venture partner Petronas, securing its first sales contract for the project. Petronas has the option to purchase an additional 1 mtpa.The deal will underpin construction of the first 3.5 mtpa train of Gladstone LNG and brings a final investment decision a step closer. The agreement is conditional upon Santos and Petronas taking FID, currently scheduled for 2010.
