In a move to boost the use of LNG as a transport fuel, a Gasunie and Royal Vopak joint venture has taken FID on plans to add LNG break bulk infrastructure and services to the Gate Terminal in Rotterdam, the JV said on Thursday. Construction work is set to start later this year with the commissioning and start-up of break bulk services scheduled for the first half of 2016. Under the plans a new harbour basin will be added, providing 280 berthing slots each year.
