SocGen slashes European gas price forecast

French investment bank Societe Generale downgraded its outlook for European gas prices to a floor of USD 6/MMBtu above Henry Hub ahead of an expected supply glut. The bank slashed its forecasts for month-ahead contract prices at the UK’s National Balancing Point (NBP) by an average of 5.3% per annum up to 2020, according to a report published this week.
