US OIL & GAS: Oil stocks highest on record, rig count rises (16 November 2015)

US oil rigs are on the rise, despite national oil stocks having reached their highest point in over three decades, the latest set of public data by the government’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) and services major Baker Hughes show. Rigs - The US count inched up to 574 on Friday, a two-unit gain (0.3%) over last week’s five- year low, according to Baker Hughes. The count remains markedly lower year on year (-64%), but has moved between 570-600 since mid-October.
