RWE has said it is continuing to work on plans to sell its oil and gas division RWE Dea to Russian-led investment fund LetterOne (L1), despite being refused the blessing of the UK government, the German company said on Thursday. The statement came as reports surfaced that the deal was close to collapse, with German chemicals giant BASF touted as a possible successor to L1.
