New US DoE LNG licensing process comes into force

A new policy requiring proposed US LNG export projects to secure environmental approvals before the country's Department of Energy (DoE) will rule on non-FTA LNG export licences for the projects came into force on Friday. The policy means that the DoE will “cease to act on non-FTA export applications according to the published order of precedence” instead ruling on applications “in the order they become ready for final action”, outlined a DoE statement.
