UK receives 95 bids in 14th onshore licensing round

The UK’s 14th onshore oil and gas licensing round, the first to be conducted since 2008, has attracted a total of 95 bids, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) told Gas Strategies on Friday. Bids were recorded for 295 of the 10 sq km blocks, with some participants bidding on more than one block, a spokesman for DECC said. A full list of bidders and the locations bid on will be released next year.
