Noble starts offshore-Cyprus appraisal drilling as LNG concept gathers momentum

Noble Energy has begun appraisal drilling in Cyprus’ Aphrodite block in a bid to prove the estimated 7 Tcf of gas resources discovered there in 2011.“The appraisal drilling of the Aphrodite structure will reduce the level of uncertainty regarding the quantity of natural gas in place, but we will still have a probabilistic estimate of the resource. Further appraisal may be necessary,” said Noble in a statement.
