PGNiG and Chevron sign MoU for Polish shale gas exploration

Poland’s PGNiG and Chevron have signed an MoU on the terms setting up a joint venture company collaborating on shale gas exploration projects in south eastern Poland. PGNiG said that successful exploration by the two companies could result in them setting up a joint company in which each company’s would hold a 50% interest. The newly formed company would obtain and become operator of four licences – two from each company. Chevron would pool two - Zwierzyniec and Grabowiec – of its four Polish licences while PGNiG would add the Tomaszow Lubelski and Wiszniow-Tarnoszyn concessions.
