Shell wins 30-year contract to develop Bab sour gas in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has chosen Shell to be its partner in developing the Bab sour gas reservoirs 150 km southwest of UAE capital Abu Dhabi. ADNOC will take a 60% share in a 30-year joint venture which will be formed with Shell (40%) to manage and operate the development, and whose objective is to increase the natural gas supply to meet rapidly growing demand in Abu Dhabi.
