Singapore LNG receives first LNG cargo

Singapore LNG has started commercial operations at its LNG terminal on Jurong Island, with its first LNG cargo received on Tuesday, the company announced. BG Group contracted to supply 3 mtpa of LNG to the $1.4 billion terminal. The terminal will have an initial regasification capacity of 3.5 mtpa, with capacity to be doubled by the end of the year, after a third storage tank, additional jetties and regasification facilities are added. Plans to add a fourth tank were announced in October 2012, which would raise total capacity to 9 mtpa.
