Exxon Mobil excluded from Iraq bidding round

Exxon Mobil has been excluded from a list of 47 qualified bidders eligible for Iraq’s upcoming gas-focused fourth exploration round, despite having featured on the preliminary list in February. Iraq’s government was angered by Exxon Mobil’s decision in October last year to sign oil exploration contracts with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
