INTERNATIONAL - COMPANIES BP plans to double LNG output by 2014

Presenting BP’s strategy outlook, chief executive Tony Hayward said Wednesday that the company would increase LNG production to 16 mtpa by 2014. Examination of BP’s various projects suggests that the goals are attainable as long as BP mantains maximum current output and succeeds in most of its planned expansions. This expansion includes two trains in Angola LNG (due in 2012), the fifth North West Shelf train (due in June 2008), the two Tangguh trains (due to reach full capacity this year) and, possibly a fifth Trinidad LNG train.
