Israel needs firm export policy in order to develop LNG options – Noble Energy

Israel has the potential to create LNG export terminals in three different locations, but will not achieve productive results without a decisive export policy from the state, according to Noble Energy director of LNG development Gerry Peereboom.Addressing delegates at the Gastech East Mediterranean and North African Gas Forum, Peereboom said Israel had the choice of constructing an LNG export terminal either on its own coastline, in Cyprus at Vassilikos, or in Jordan’s Special Economic Zone at Aqaba. It remained unclear, however, on what terms Israel would open up its gas reserves for customers beyond the domestic market. But Peereboom noted that a decision on export policy was expected from the Israeli government in the next two months.
