In connection with our medicinal chemistry research program,we were interested in preparing a series of 1-substituted-imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine-3(2H)-thione derivatives (Figure 1).Although synthesis of 1-phenyl-imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine-3(2H)-thione (1) has been reported previously by glover and coworkers.
