Bucyrus International, Inc., and its subsidiary Bucyrus Australia have sold a second 49RIII blasthole drill to P.T. Freeport Indonesia. This drill will be put to work at the Grasberg mine along-side a growing fleet of Bucyrus drills.The 49R is known for such features as chainless rack and pinion pulldown, state of the art drive systems, and a chainless hydrostatic propel with planetary drives (providing counter-rotation steering). Bucyrus continues to focus on the comfort and safety of the drill operator and maintenance personnel by providing a pressurised, sound dampened, temperature controlled operator's cab and an automatic leveling system with four hydraulic jacks.
